The Minister of Immigration has announced that anyone who held, or had applied for, a 457 visa before or after 18 April 2017 and had been in Australia in the specified period, can now apply for a permanent visa subclass 186TRT, regardless of their age.

Here is a summary of the impact on immigration as a result of the 2022 Budget
Commencing on 1 July 2022, the 186 Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) program will open up to visa holders on the Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482) short term occupation list if they can meet the following:
The Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) has replaced the Australia Travel Declaration and is required to be completed by all passengers arriving by air into Australia. The DPD can be completed seven days before the flight departure and submitted within 72 hours prior to departure for Australia.

The Australian government has announced that from 18 February 2022, certain eligible Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa holders will have their visas extended or enlivened to 30 September 2022.
