State Government Support for Temporary Visa Holders

State Government Support for Temporary Visa Holders

With the Federal Government providing no financial support to international students or any other type of temporary visa holders, some State Governments have stepped in to give these people support in the wake of COIVD-19.

This has been a welcome relief to visa holders in some states, however not every state is providing support. As well as the different financial support available between States, each State is also beginning to reduce COVID-19 restrictions to varying degrees.

We’ve summarised the latest restriction announcements as well as the support available to temporary visa holders and international students for each State below:

We’ll be discussing all the support available to temporary visa holders and international students in our latest Webinar – States Step Up on Thursday 14 May at 1pm. Join us by registering here.

The Red Cross has also been given funding from the Government to provide support to temporary visa holders facing urgent financial hardship. You can find out more about the support available from the Red Cross here.
