Types of Australian Resident Return Visa Subclass Options 

The following Resident Return Visa Subclass options are available:

Resident Return Visa – Subclass 155

The Resident Return Visa (Subclass 155) is designed for current or former Australian permanent residents who wish to travel internationally and maintain their status as a permanent resident. This visa allows individuals to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident after their initial five-year visa has expired or is about to expire.

Resident Return Visa – Subclass 157

The Resident Return Visa (Subclass 157) is designed for former Australian permanent residents who have lost or have had their permanent residency status expire. This visa allows individuals to regain their permanent residency status and return to Australia.

 

Former Resident Visa – Subclass 151

The Former Resident Visa (Subclass 151) is a visa option for individuals who were once Australian permanent residents and want to return to Australia as permanent residents. This visa is designed for individuals who have spent a significant period of their lives in Australia but have since lost their permanent resident status.

 

Provisional Resident Return Visa – Subclass 159

The Provisional Resident Return Visa (Subclass 159) is a temporary visa option for former Australian permanent residents who wish to return to Australia but do not meet the residency requirements for a permanent Resident Return Visa.

Resident Return Visa Frequently Asked Questions

You need to apply for a Resident Return Visa when your current Australian permanent residency visa is expiring or has expired, and you want to maintain your status as a permanent resident.

It costs $405 to apply for a Resident Return visa online or $485 through postage.
