Trang was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and immigrated to Australia in October 2022.
Trang graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages โ Information Technology with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in teaching English as a second language.
Trang has extensive work experience in the immigration sector. Initially, she worked at the Australian Visa Application Centre in Ho Chi Minh City as an Immigration Assistant for four years, receiving training from the Australian Immigration Officer on visitor, work and permanent visa subclasses. Following this role, she was with the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City for over seven years as an Immigration Assistant in the Immigration Visa Unit.
As a person who has been working in the immigration industry and has also experienced the benefits of having a permanent visa, Trang understands that having a chance to live in a developed country can change peopleโs life for the better. She enjoys working in the industry to help people like herself, and likes the challenge of keeping her knowledge up to date with changing rules and legislation.
Being a migrant herself, Trang appreciates that immigrating to Australia has benefits for not only herself, but also her family. In her own words, โthey have the opportunity to experience one of the best educations in the world, the best food quality, freedom, and equality.โ The work is challenging at the same time, as the rules keep changing every year, and it requires me to update my knowledge very often which is what I like.
Outside of work, Trang enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Having time for herself is sometimes a bonus and when she gets the opportunity, she enjoys listening to meditation music or lessons from the monks which is her way to get back to her inner self. (And she also loves a leather bag brand in Vietnam, so listening to their live streams of selling the products with different colours makes her life much more colourful).
