Who Is Eligible For The Care Workforce to Residence Visa?

There are certain criteria to be met when applying for the Care Workforce Work to Residence Visa:

1. Job Offer: Applicants must have a genuine job offer from an Accredited New Zealand employer in the healthcare or aged care industry. The job offer must be for a skilled occupation that aligns with the country’s healthcare and aged care needs. The employment must either be permanent full-time, or fixed-term for at least 12 months. 

2. Qualifications and Experience: Applicants must have worked in a care workforce role for 24 months. They must also have been paid at least the level 4 support workers’ minimum wage.

 

Visa Application Process

The Care Workforce Work to Residence Visa consists of two main stages:

1. Temporary Work Visa: Initially, successful applicants are granted a temporary work visa that allows them to work in New Zealand in the healthcare or aged care sector. This visa is typically valid for 30 months.

2. Residence Visa Application: After working in New Zealand for 24 months and meeting specific criteria, applicants can submit an application for a residence visa. This application includes documentation to demonstrate that they have fulfilled the work and employment conditions outlined in their initial job offer.
