Victoria’s 2020-21 business and investor visa nomination program (subclass 188 and 132) will open today, Tuesday, 8 September 2020.
The Commonwealth Government have provided an interim allocation of visa nomination places for the Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP) to the Victorian Government.
In order to ensure all applications received can be assessed before the Federal Budget on 6 October, applications will close at 5pm AEST 21 September 2020.
Additional state nomination visa places will be allocated to the Victorian Government for the remainder of the 2020-21 program year following the Budget.
Nomination criteria
With the opening of Victoria’s 2020-21 business and investor visa nomination, there is one change to the nomination criteria. This includes that all business and investment activity must contribute to Victoria’s economic recovery or health response to be approved for visa nomination.
Other than the one additional requirement, there are no other changes to the Victorian Government’s business and investor migration program.
Application must address this new criterion using the Economic Recovery – Business and Investment Support Form when you submit your application.
Limited places
There are limited places and with such a short window to apply we expect that it will be highly competitive. To have the best chance of success it is important that your application is specific about the way your business or investment will assist Victoria’s economic recovery or health response to the pandemic.
