Workforce Mobility Plan
VETASSESS and the National Skills Development Corporation of India (NSDC) have formed a partnership to address Australia’s labour shortages. This collaboration aims to develop a Workforce Mobility Plan that allows skilled Indian workers to travel to Australia and fill crucial job roles, benefiting both nations by addressing workforce gaps and providing employment opportunities.
Priority Areas in the Workforce Mobility Plan
The Workforce Mobility Plan will target key sectors where there is a significant demand for skilled workers in Australia. These priority areas include:
- Hospitality: Addressing the need for experienced staff in Australia’s growing hospitality sector.
- Automotive: Filling gaps in the automotive industry with skilled technicians and engineers.
- Agriculture: Supporting Australia’s agricultural industry by providing workers with essential farming and agribusiness skills.
- Aged Care: Meeting the increasing demand for aged care professionals to support Australia’s aging population.
Qualifications and Training under the Workforce Mobility Plan
VETASSESS and NSDC will collaborate on various aspects to ensure the seamless integration of Indian workers into the Australian workforce:
- Qualification Comparison: Benchmarking qualifications between the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and the Indian National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) to ensure compatibility.
- Skills Assessment: Evaluating the skills and training of workers in India to meet Australian standards.
- English Language Training: Providing necessary language training to ensure workers meet the required proficiency levels.
- Gap Training: Identifying and providing any additional training needed in partnership with Australian and Indian institutions.
