Upon approval of this visa, the holder can travel in and out of Australia and work up to 40 hours per fortnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conditions for applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If a school student, you must be of a certain age\n<ul>\n<li>You must be over 6 years old to apply for this visa<\/li>\n<li>If in secondary school, then you must be\n<ul>\n<li>less than 17 years old when you begin Year 9<\/li>\n<li>less than 18 years old when you begin Year 10<\/li>\n<li>less than 19 years old when you begin Year 11<\/li>\n<li>less than 20 years old when you begin Year 12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Be enrolled in a course of study and provide evidence of such<\/li>\n<li>Make welfare arrangements if you are under 18 years<\/li>\n<li>Meet English language requirements<\/li>\n<li>Have adequate health insurance<\/li>\n<li>Have not held a certain visa<\/li>\n<li>You cannot apply for a Student visa if you hold any of the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Domestic Worker (Temporary) Diplomatic and Consular visa (subclass 426)<\/li>\n<li>Temporary Work (International Relations) visa (subclass 403) in the Domestic Worker (Diplomatic or consular) stream<\/li>\n<li>Diplomatic (Temporary) visa (subclass 995) \u2013 primary visa holder only. A family member of a Diplomatic (Temporary) visa (subclass 995) can apply for a Student visa in Australia<\/li>\n<li>Transit visa (subclass 771)<\/li>\n<li>Visitor visa (subclass 600) in the Sponsored Family stream or in the Approved Destination Status stream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Have enough money for your stay<\/li>\n<li>Be a genuine temporary entrant<\/li>\n<li>Meet the DHA\u2019s health requirement (this applies both to you, as the applicant, and any other family members)<\/li>\n<li>Meet the DHA\u2019s character requirement (this applies both to you, as the applicant, and any other family members)<\/li>\n<li>Sign the Australian values statement<\/li>\n<li>Have paid back your debt to the Australian Government<\/li>\n<li>Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused<\/li>\n<li>Best interests of the child, whereby a visa might not be granted if it is not in the best interests of a child under the age of 18<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Student Visa allows the holder to study in Australia for up to five years (depending on the length of their course of study).
