{"id":43089,"date":"2023-08-31T16:27:26","date_gmt":"2023-08-31T06:27:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/?p=43089"},"modified":"2023-10-19T10:13:36","modified_gmt":"2023-10-19T10:13:36","slug":"imminent-closure-of-the-subclass-408-pandemic-event-visa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/news\/imminent-closure-of-the-subclass-408-pandemic-event-visa","title":{"rendered":"Imminent Closure of the Subclass 408 (Pandemic Event) visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong><em>&#8211;<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>The Government will <a href=\"https:\/\/minister.homeaffairs.gov.au\/ClareONeil\/Pages\/closure-of-the-pandemic-event-visa.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">close the Pandemic Event visa on 1 February 2024<\/a> due to the cessation of the circumstances that prompted its creation at the height of COVID lockdowns and travel restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>However, from <strong><span style=\"color: #ed7131;\">September 2, 2023<\/span><\/strong>, only current holders of a subclass 408 (Pandemic stream) visa will be able to apply.
