{"id":38571,"date":"2023-02-24T10:00:15","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T23:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/?p=38571"},"modified":"2023-10-19T11:41:09","modified_gmt":"2023-10-19T11:41:09","slug":"australian-government-announces-3000-visas-for-pacific-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/news\/australian-government-announces-3000-visas-for-pacific-workers","title":{"rendered":"Australian Government announces 3,000 visas for Pacific workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Australian Government has announced the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfat.gov.au\/pacific-engagement-visa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pacific Engagement Visa (PEV)<\/a> that will allow up to 3,000 people from the Pacific region to migrate to Australia as permanent residents each year.<\/p>\n<p>Under this scheme model, the Government is showing its commitment to strengthening Australia\u2019s ties with the Pacific family, enhancing people-to-people links, and encouraging greater cultural, business, and educational exchange.<\/p>\n<p>The program, which will commence in July 2023, has a two-step application process, under which applicants must first register in a ballot and pay a fee of $25 and in the second stage, applicants will be selected by the ballot and then they will be able to apply for permanent residence in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;\">What is the PEV ballot?<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ballot is an electronic random selection process that will be managed by the Department of Home Affairs. Successful entrants and their immediate family members will be able to apply for a PEV.<\/p>\n<p>The ballot aims to provide eligible individuals from participating Pacific countries fair and transparent access to the program by randomly selecting ballot participants.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;\"><strong>How to apply?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Applicants will register themselves, their partners, and dependent children on the ballot, and if successful, they will then apply for the visa.<\/p>\n<p>The entrance to the ballot will cost $25, and registrations will be valid for a year.
