Sophie was born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa (Auckland, New Zealand) and moved to Melbourne in October 2022.
Sophie took an interest in the immigration industry during the completion of a Bachelor of Arts with Honours, majoring in Political Science and International Relations. For her honours thesis, she used feminist political theory to analyse Immigration New Zealand’s definition of skill. She is therefore very interested in the theoretical element of why certain visa conditions exist and will take great interest in the Australian immigration system. Sophie is very excited to start doing practical work in this area and to see how it actually works!
Whilst Sophie is new to working in the immigration industry, she spent three years working in the adventure tourism industry and spending time with working holiday makers and therefore heard first-hand about their migration journeys.
In her spare time, Sophie loves to read, go to the beach and go op shopping to see what great bargains she can find!
