Melissa is originally from Peru, where she studied Law and worked in various professional capacities in the mining industry. Since coming to Australia in 2015, she has worked in administration, customer services and sales. Her education provides her with a sound basis in ethics, professionalism, and her lived experience means she has understanding and empathy for the migrant journey.
Melissa’s experience in the immigration industry includes working in a consulate in Canberra. She is also an active member of Australia’s growing Latin American community. She founded an education not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, League of Latin American Migrants Australia (LLAMA) which connects international students, migrants, and refugees from Latin America with Australian society more broadly.
Outside work, she loves playing with her kids, exploring Melbourne, and enjoying the city’s many cultural events.
