The changes include a new Short term Graduate Work visa and expanded eligibility for the Post Study Work visa for certain graduate diploma holders.<\/p><p>Immigration New Zealand has stated that the updated settings are designed to better align graduate employment pathways with New Zealand\u2019s skills needs while supporting the international education sector. This will enable eligible graduates to seek employment and potentially transition to an Accredited Employer Work visa.<\/p><p>To qualify, applicants must:<\/p><ul><li>Hold an NZQCF Level 5 to 7 qualification<\/li><li>Have studied full-time in New Zealand for at least 24 weeks<\/li><li>Hold a qualification that does not qualify for a Post Study Work visa under existing policies<\/li><li>Have at least NZD $5,000 available for maintenance<\/li><li>Meet relevant health requirements<\/li><li>Apply within 3 months of their student visa expiring<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>English language, foundation and bridging qualifications are excluded from eligibility.<\/p><p>In addition, applicants must not have previously held either a Post Study Work visa or a Short term Graduate Work visa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-abb595c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"abb595c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/nz\/\">.<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-466f5d4 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"466f5d4\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-801f07d\" data-id=\"801f07d\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-399038f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"399038f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Work restrictions and family sponsorship<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7dc09ef elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7dc09ef\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Short term Graduate Work visa will allow open work rights. However, work must be completed under an employment agreement or contract for services. Business ownership is not permitted.<\/p><p>Unlike the Post Study Work visa, Short term Graduate Work visa holders cannot support partners for work visas or dependent children for Dependent Child Student visas.<\/p><p>Furthermore, holders cannot extend the visa or apply for a second Short term Graduate Work visa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3ab75a2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3ab75a2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/nz\/\">.<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-46101ee elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"46101ee\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-5ce0dd1\" data-id=\"5ce0dd1\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5e2409f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"5e2409f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Post Study Work visa expansion<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aa745fe elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"aa745fe\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Immigration New Zealand will also extend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.govt.nz\/study\/after-you-finish-your-study\/staying-to-work-after-finishing-your-study\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;text-decoration: underline\">Post Study Work Visa<\/span><\/span><\/a> eligibility to graduate diploma holders who already hold a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/p><p>Importantly, the bachelor\u2019s degree may have been completed overseas and there is no limit on when it was awarded. In addition, applicants will not require an International Qualification Assessment for overseas bachelor\u2019s degrees, although Immigration New Zealand may still verify qualification authenticity.<\/p><p>Applicants must provide:<\/p><ul><li>Their graduate diploma evidence<\/li><li>A bachelor\u2019s degree certificate<\/li><li>An official academic transcript<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The graduate diploma must have been studied entirely in New Zealand on a full-time basis. Cross crediting, recognition of prior learning or similar arrangements do not count towards eligibility.<\/p><p>The Post Study Work visa may be granted for the period spent studying the graduate diploma in New Zealand, up to a maximum of 1 year.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ef711d4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"ef711d4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/nz\/\">.<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-e2f901d elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e2f901d\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-5505c92\" data-id=\"5505c92\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0ad3f83 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"0ad3f83\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Graduate diploma pathways<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5f61114 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5f61114\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Graduate diploma holders without a bachelor\u2019s degree may still qualify for a Post Study Work visa if their qualification appears in Appendix 13 of the Immigration Operational Manual. In these cases, work conditions may restrict employment to the specified occupation linked to the qualification.<\/p><p>However, graduates whose qualification is not listed in Appendix 13 and who do not hold a bachelor\u2019s degree will not qualify for a Post Study Work visa. Instead, they may consider the new Short term Graduate Work visa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6d93784 elementor-widget
