Under the updated settings, migrant investors applying through the <a href=\"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/nz\/new-zealand-visas\/active-plus-investor-visa\/\">G<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;text-decoration: underline\">rowth category<\/span><\/span><\/a> will be permitted to invest up to 20 per cent of their total investment funds into philanthropy.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #ed7d31\"><a style=\"color: #ed7d31;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.govt.nz\/about-us\/news-centre\/active-investor-plus-change-enables-philanthropy-in-growth-category\/?utm_source=Immigration%20New%20Zealand&amp;utm_medium=Email&amp;utm_campaign=CO406_EnglishLanguage_25May2026&amp;utm_content=btn\">Immigration New Zealand<\/a><\/span><\/span> (INZ) has also introduced new eligibility requirements for acceptable philanthropic investments, which will apply to both the Growth and Balanced categories.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4c79528 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4c79528\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/nz\/\">.<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-01bb07e elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"01bb07e\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><span style=\"color: #ed7d31\"><strong>New <span style=\"color: #ed7d31\">requirements<\/span> for philanthropic investments<\/strong><\/span><\/h2><p>From 1 June 2026, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #ed7d31\"><a style=\"color: #ed7d31;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.beehive.govt.nz\/release\/aip-visa-growth-category-expands-philanthropy\">philanthropic investments<\/a><\/span><\/span> must be made to eligible New Zealand charities that:<\/p><ul><li>Are registered charities<\/li><li>Have current Inland Revenue donee status<\/li><li>Have at least five years of compliant annual financial returns<\/li><li>Are Tier 1 to Tier 3 reporting charities<\/li><li>Funds must be used to benefit New Zealand and cannot benefit the applicant personally<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Donations may also be made to approved <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #ed7d31\"><a style=\"color: #ed7d31;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.doc.govt.nz\/our-work\/restoring-places\/\">Department of Conservation projects<\/a><\/span><\/span> listed on the Department\u2019s website.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-02e4252 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"02e4252\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/nz\/\">.<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-4c47c1e elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" introduced<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2><p>Applicants will be required to declare any existing links to the charities receiving the investment funds. The Government has stated that applications may be declined where conflicts of interest are identified.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-236477c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"236477c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/nz\/\">.<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section meet the updated requirements.<\/p><p>The changes introduce additional flexibility for some migrant investors while also increasing compliance requirements around acceptable philanthropic
