While the visa provides open work rights, holders must work under an employment agreement or contract for services, and business ownership is not permitted.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>To qualify, applicants must:<\/p><ul><li>Hold a qualification at NZQCF Level 5 to 7<\/li><li>Have studied full-time in New Zealand for at least 24 weeks<\/li><li>Not previously been granted a Short Term Graduate Work Visa or a Post Study Work Visa<\/li><li>Not hold a qualification that already qualifies them for a Post Study Work Visa<\/li><li>Provide written approval if their study was supported under the New Zealand Scholarship Programme<\/li><li>Demonstrate access to at least NZD $5,000 for maintenance<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>English language, foundation, and bridging qualifications are excluded and applications must be submitted within 3 months of the expiry of the student visa.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Key limitations apply:<\/p><ul><li>The visa cannot be extended or granted more than once<\/li><li>Holders cannot sponsor partners for work visas or children for dependent student visas<\/li><li>Partners may apply for work visas on their own merit, and family members may be eligible for visitor visas<\/li><li>Business or self-employment is not permitted<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>This visa is intended as a short transition period rather than a long-term work solution.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-02e4252 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"02e4252\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/nz\/\">.<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-4c47c1e elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"4c47c1e\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-4ab1c9b\" data-id=\"4ab1c9b\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-018bdd7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"018bdd7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><span style=\"color: #ed7d31\"><strong>Post-study work visa eligibility expanded<\/strong><\/span><\/h2><p>The New Zealand Government will also extend eligibility for the Post Study Work Visa to a new group of graduates.<\/p><p>From late 2026, applicants who complete a Graduate Diploma at NZQCF Level 7 may qualify, provided they also hold a bachelor\u2019s degree. The bachelor\u2019s degree can be from New Zealand or overseas, with no restriction on when it was obtained.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>To be eligible, applicants must:<\/p><ul><li>Complete the Graduate Diploma entirely in New Zealand<\/li><li>Study full-time for the full duration of the qualification<\/li><li>Not rely on cross-crediting or recognition of prior learning<\/li><li>Provide evidence of both the Graduate Diploma and bachelor\u2019s degree<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The duration of the visa will align with the length of study in New Zealand, up to a maximum of 1 year.<\/p><p>As with current settings:<\/p><ul><li>Only one Post Study Work Visa can be granted per individual<\/li><li>Visa holders may support partners and dependent children, subject to requirements<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-236477c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"236477c\"
