From 18 August 2025, <\/span>ten additional trades<\/span><\/span><\/a> occupations will be added to the <\/span>Work to Residence<\/a><\/span> pathway on the <\/span>Green List<\/a><\/span> of in-demand occupations. This expansion provides skilled tradespeople with a clearer, faster route to New Zealand residence, reflecting the ongoing demand for highly skilled workers in essential industries.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> The Work to Residence pathway is designed to attract and retain workers whose skills are critical to New Zealand\u2019s economy. Applicants in these trades will be eligible to apply for residence after completing 24 months of full-time, paid employment in New Zealand in a relevant role.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> \u00a0<\/span><\/p> Eligible applicants must hold current employment, or a job offer in one of the following trades:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> \u00a0<\/span><\/p> From 18 August 2025, applicants working in these trades may qualify for residence if they:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> \u00a0<\/span><\/p> Different wage levels apply depending on the occupation:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> \u00a0<\/p> These thresholds were set following a 2023 review of the Green List and reflect the high level of expertise required in these trades.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> \u00a0<\/span><\/p> The addition of trades roles to the Green List reflect the Government\u2019s goal of aligning immigration settings with New Zealand\u2019s workforce needs.
