color: #767171;\">NZ Immigration has announced that the Pacific Access Category (PAC) and the Samoan Quota (SQ) ballots will open 1 August 2023 and close 31 August 2023.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #767171; font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">Both annual ballots will be drawn in early October 2023<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #767171; font-size: 11pt; font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">The two schemes will enable people from Samoa and Tonga,<\/span><span style=\"color: #767171; font-size: 11pt; font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">Tuvalu, Kiribati and Fiji to become permanent residents in New Zealand.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;\"><b>Samoan Quota (SQ)<\/b><\/span><\/p><h5><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; color: #767171;\">The maximum number of SQ visas available is:<\/span><\/h5><ul><li>1,650 Samoan citizens each year to 2025<\/li><li>1,100 Samoan citizens each year from 2026 onwards<\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;\"><b>Pacific Access Category (PAC)<\/b><\/span><\/p><p>The maximum number of PAC visas available for 2023 is:<\/p><ul><li>\u2022 500 Fijian citizens150 Kiribati citizens<br \/>\u2022 500 Tongan citizens <br \/>\u2022 150 Tuvaluan citizens.<\/li><\/ul><p>The maximum number of PAC visas available for 2024 onwards is:<br \/>\u2022 250 Fijian citizens each year<br \/>\u2022 75 Kiribati citizens each year<br \/>\u2022 250 Tongan citizens each year <br \/>\u2022 75 Tuvaluan citizens each year<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;\"><b>Invitation to apply<\/b><\/span><\/p><p>People who are successful on the ballot and are invited to apply for a PAC or SQ resident visa will have eight months to submit their application<\/p><p style=\"text-indent: -18.0pt;
