In December 2022, the Minister of Immigration announced several roles across different sectors would be added to the Green List work to residence pathway to help further address labour shortages and provide greater certainty to businesses as they recover from the pandemic.<\/p>\n
The profession that will be added to the \u2018Straight to Residence\u2019 Green List pathway on 29 May 2023:<\/p>\n
\n Occupation<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n Green List Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Currently $38.56 per hour, or $80,200 per annum<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n The following roles, as well as the requirements each must meet, will be added to the \u2018Work to Residence\u2019 Green List pathway on 29 May 2023:<\/p>\n Occupation<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n Green List Requirements<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n The applicant must have a New Zealand Level 3 Certificate in Cranes with at least one Level 4 specialisation (or overseas equivalent) at the time of application for residence.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n AND<\/p>\n A provisional practising certificate issued by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand<\/p>\n Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages must be working in a primary, intermediate or secondary school<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n When these roles are added to the Green List on 29 May 2023, employers will not be required to show evidence of advertising when they submit a job check, and migrants working in these roles will be eligible to sponsor a partner on an open work visa. Immigration instructions are expected to be published in mid-May.<\/p>\n Eligible migrant workers will be able to apply for residence from 29 September 2023 if they have worked in a Green List occupation and met the specified requirements of that occupation for 24 months.<\/p>\n Updates to the Green List will be made on 29 May 2023.<\/p>\n |
