{"id":36075,"date":"2022-10-14T09:06:06","date_gmt":"2022-10-13T22:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/?p=36075"},"modified":"2023-10-20T06:12:39","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T06:12:39","slug":"nzs-skilled-migrant-category-resident-visa-smc-resumes-9-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/absoluteimmigration.com\/nz\/news\/nzs-skilled-migrant-category-resident-visa-smc-resumes-9-november\/","title":{"rendered":"NZ\u2019s Skilled Migrant Category Resident Visa (SMC) resumes 9 November"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Photo by Will Patino<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Selections of expressions of interest (EOIs) for the Skilled Migrant Category Resident Visa (SMC) will resume on 9 November 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Immigration New Zealand (INZ) uses a points-based system to assess EOIs and on 9 November they will select all EOIs with at least 160 points, which is the current threshold.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;\"><strong>Immigration New Zealand\u2019s Points Indicator<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>After 9 November, the threshold will increase to 180 points.<\/p>\n<p>EOIs will be selected again on 18 January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The threshold increase will only affect EOIs after 9 November 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;\">Timeline<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>9 November 2022 &#8211; Selections<\/strong> will resume from 9 November 2022. All EOIs with at least 160 points will be selected.<\/li>\n<li><strong>18 January 2023 &#8211;<\/strong> The second selection will be on 18 January 2023. All EOIs with at least 180 points will be selected.<\/li>\n<li><strong>After 18 January 2023 &#8211;<\/strong> Selections after 18 January 2023 will be on the third Wednesday of each month. All EOIs with at least 180 points will be selected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;\"><strong>Expression of Interest selection<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Those who have submitted EOIs can proceed, or withdraw and request a refund.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Proceed option<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those who wish to proceed must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ensure details are correct, and<\/li>\n<li>claim eligible points before 9 November 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Selected EOIs will be checked to ensure the right number of points are claimed. Those who meet the points threshold will be invited to apply for an SMC Resident Visa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Withdraw option<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those who wish to withdraw and request a refund should do so before 9 November 2022. Refunds are not available after the EOI has been selected.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ed7d31;\"><strong>EOI Expiry<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>EOIs submitted before 9 May 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EOIs submitted before 9 May 2022 that are not selected on 9 November 2022 will expire.
