After 11.59 pm on 31 July, the final steps of Immigration New Zealand\u2019s Reconnecting Strategy will be reached.<\/p>\n

Visitors<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Every non-New Zealand or Australian citizen travelling to New Zealand needs a visa or New Zealand Electronic Authority (NZeTA) to enter the country.<\/p>\n Visitor Visas<\/strong><\/p>\n From 11.59pm on 31 July (NZST), applications for Visitor Visas will reopen.<\/p>\n Group visitor visa fees will increase:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n With an NZeTA you can travel to New Zealand without first applying for a visa if you are:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Students<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Student visa applications reopen from 11:59pm 31 July 2022 (NZST) to support the rebuilding of a high-value international education sector.<\/p>\n Costs<\/strong><\/p>\n From 11.59pm on 31 July 2022, Immigration fees and levies for student visas will increase.<\/p>\n The new costs for a student visa will be:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The amount students need for living costs while in New Zealand will also increase to:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Application process<\/strong><\/p>\n Applications online should be made between one and three months before intending to travel.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Maritime border<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The maritime border will reopen to foreign-flagged vessels at 11.59pm on 31 July 2022 (NZST).<\/p>\n Travellers on cruise ships must apply for an NZeTA.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Phasing out border exceptions<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Most border exceptions will close at 11:59pm on 31 July (NZST).<\/p>\n The full timeline for INZ\u2019s transition back to standard visa processing was announced earlier this month.<\/p>\n Click through to our article for further information \u2013 click here<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2021 Resident Visa category closing<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The Government created the 2021 Resident Visa to recognise the contribution migrants made during COVID-19.<\/p>\n Among those eligible to apply are critical workers in longer-term roles who:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The 2021 Resident Visa category closes at 11:59 pm on 31 July 2022 (NZST).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n COVID-19 restrictions <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n COVID-19 restrictions still apply when travelling to New Zealand.
