The New Zealand Government has just announced that from 11.59 pm Tuesday 12 April, Australians will be able to travel to New Zealand, isolation-free. Coinciding with the start of the Australian school holidays, this date has been brought forward which is great news for tourist operators in New Zealand and for eligible tourists outside the border.

Following Australians eligibility to enter New Zealand, from 11.59 pm Sunday 1 May, vaccinated travellers from visa-waiver countries such as the large tourist markets of the UK, US, Japan, Germany, Korea and Singapore, and those with valid visitor visas, will also be able to arrive.

Eligible tourists will NOT be required to isolate on arrival, however, they will be required to have had a pre-departure test, with two further rapid antigen tests on day 0/1 and 5/6.

Whilst we wait on further announcements for non-visa waiver travellers, it is expected that plans will be revealed in October and we will keep our subscribers updated as news comes to hand.
