Bupa Launches Healthcare Cover Campaign for Temporary Foreign Workers

To maintain the standards of the Australian healthcare system temporary migrants are required to meet certain minimum health requirements in order to be granted a visa.

In addition to meeting the health requirement, some visas may also require temporary foreign workers to provide evidence of adequate health insurance for the duration of their stay.

This insurance is intended to help cover or contribute towards any medical fees that temporary migrants may incur during their time in Australia, including:

  • Doctor’s appointments
  • Dental Work
  • Physiotherapy
  • Hospital admissions
  • Visits to other specialist practitioners

The Australian healthcare giant Bupa has just launched a new 6-Weeks-Free Campaign for Working Visitors Covers—offering temporary foreign workers a considerable discount on health insurance—that will run from July 1 to August 31.

The 6-Weeks-Free offer will extend to most health insurance plans offered by Bupa to temporary migrant workers, including the Essential Visitors, Gold Visitors and Platinum Visitors Cover, and the Essential Plus Visitors, Gold Visitors with excess, and Platinum Visitors with Excess package.

Visa applicants who sign up for Bupa’s working cover before August 31 can expect to see considerable savings—up to $520 each month—in the cost of their premium payments.

The cover will also apply to all working visa types, including the following:

  • Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (subclass 482)
  • Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485)
  • Training (subclass 407) and Temporary Activity (subclass 408) Visa
  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 489)
  • Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) Visa (subclass 188)
  • Business Talent (Permanent) Visa (subclass 132)

Visa applicants who are interested in accessing this deal online should make sure they put ‘WORKING OFFER’ in the ‘Promotion code or Employer’ field in the extranet, as demonstrated below.
